Juliet
I mentioned on the Powers list a while back the passing of Juliet, our 13-year-old Maine Coon. I thought I'd just post one of the last pictures of her. As you can see, she was already contemplating a voyage. She will be missed!

Such a pretty cat!

Tim and Serena's three kittens are now down to two. One of them just never got the hang of eating, he said. I'm almost afraid to ask how the other two are doing... [info]teddystutz was just saying yesterday that she'd be home in a week and it'd be "Kitten Time"!

It's been a few years since kitten time for us. Are you contemplating a new one?

Yep, in fact, we have already gotten a new little orange-striped guy from the shelter! I'll post a pic of him too when I have a chance.

We had only Juliet for many years, but several years ago we got a new kitten at my daughter's request, and the two cats never really got along, I guess because Juliet was just too old to be bothered with trying to be playful with Peppermint. So this time we thought we should try to introduce a new one earlier, and so far it seems to be going well.

We had a Maine Coon when I was a kid that looked a lot like her, except that he always had big chunks of fur missing around his head. He refused to be brushed and he'd get these terrible clumps of matted fur that needed to be cut off.

Sorry about your cat.

Thanks for the sentiment. Yeah, we would sometimes have that problem with Juliet, though not really around her head - it was more toward the tail end with her. She usually allowed limited brushing, but she did get a bit more irritable about it as she got older. Our two current cats are short-hairs.
